If you have grubs, which are a white worm or small black bug that eat the roots of your lawn, your dead lawn will turn a light gray color, like cement, and you will need to apply a grub pesticide to resolve this insect problem. But if you have a lawn fungus problem, or any other lawn health problem, the dead area of your lawn will turn a straw color, and can be successfully resolved with Ring to GREEN!
